Lyonnais Quinquet Blue Set of Two
Lyonnais Quinquet Blue Set of Two
The Lyonnais Quinquet Blue glasses are inspired by the Fête des Lumièresin Lyon, France. This unique Lyonnais tradition happens every year on December 8th when every house displays votive candles in little glass containers in all their windows to participate in the festival and light up the streets. We like to use the Lyonnais Quinquet Blue just like this, as a votive and also as a drinking glass! Mouth-blown from recycled glass by our master artisan glassblowers.
Dimension CM approximately : 6,5cm w x 7cm h
General information
Due to the handmade nature of this item, there will be variations in design and size, as well as slight imperfections, possibly in the form of air bubbles, black specks, pontil and or hand tooling marks, glass or color pattern irregularities; these imperfections are an attribute of handmade craftsmanship and one of the many reasons we love it.
These are entirely made by hand and each creation is unique. Therefore, there may be a slight variation in color, texture, and size between each piece (approximately 1cm-2cm from piece to piece). On the base of each item, you can feel the pontil mark left by the glassblower’s cane. The presence of this mark indicates that the glass was blown freehand. This is the beauty of handmade.
Cleaning care
We do recommend handwashing as much as possible to avoid scratches from the dishwasher and to keep the glass sparkling. But, know that our glassware is dishwasher resistant and can be cleaned in the dishwasher
Colored glass
Pigmented glass is mixed into the furnace during the glassblowing. This means that the glass itself is colored instead of painted. Our glass is durable and no changes or fading occur with continued use over time.
